i want a tattoo in hebrew, should i go to a tattoo shop and ask or try to find the lettering online?

i should probably mention that this would be my first tattoo, i want something meaningful, possibly my moms name or a quote in another language such as hebrew or greek. Finding/understanding the lettering in either of those language online has been impossible .. should i go to a tattoo shop for some help with what i want or should i stick to searching online? And does anyone know of any great tattoo shops in the san francisco area? thanks
