how do I find a facility for my mother when staying home is no longer an option?
My parents are homeless and my mother has alz. and my father works all day.My siblings and I are unable to be with her while he is away and she clearly is not safe to be alone.They live in Saratoga Springs,N.Y. and my mom has medicaid.
my mother had copd and she got like this she was on a program called at home health care when she couldn’t take care of herself its where they pay a family member or friend to stay at home and take care of them and a nurse comes out once a day to check every thing its covered by medicaid but im not sure if they do it in N.Y. or if yo would be able to find someone to stay with her full time but if you speak with her social worker the two of you should be able to work something out that is best for your mother just make sure if it a nursing home you interview the staff and all that you would be surprised some of the horrible things those people do
